Online shopping is my savior. Is it too close to Easter to say that? Either way, it's true. It's the best. I do whatever I can to avoid Michigan Avenue, which is normally pretty easy since tons of other neighborhoods are filled with great retailers. But this means I inadvertently avoid my favorite store Nordstrom: the home of all things awesome. (Wouldn't a Lincoln Park Nordstrom be perfect? I'll call Rahm. Or Chuy?) So in order to scratch my shopping itch, I do the majority of my spending online. Amazon Prime is a convenience that I cannot function without. If a website doesn't have free shipping and free returns, I think they are communists (#millennialproblems). I understand this sounds insane since I live at most five miles away from any store I could ever want to step foot in. But, I blame Amazon. They have created this lazy monster. Why would I waste $30 in cab fare to get downtown when I can get free two-day shipping online? I'm not even going to wear that top until Friday anyway, sooooo... thanks champagne! At least I haven't bought 37 Dash buttons yet. That is consumption at its finest.
I have been on a (semi) shopping-hiatus this winter. I was so sick of this ridiculous Chicago weather that I boycotted looking cute. I told myself I would only buy new clothes for spring and summer. Winter was becoming so depressing that fashion no longer held any relevance. So today, friends, I went HAM. (Definition of HAM here. Warning: NSFW.) Shopbop is having another sale - Friends & Family with 25% off everything with code SPRING25 (there are a few minor exceptions, but who really needs 3.1 Phillip Lim anyway?). This sale is stocked with more warm weather goods than it was before, so don't miss it. John and I are headed south next week to visit his parents, so that's the perfect excuse to go a little overboard, right? Right.
